Sugarbush

The Picture below is of My Great Grandmother Louise Migizens (far left) along with my Great-Great Grandfather William Migizens (center) and My Great Aunt Katie Migizens (far right). The picture was taken out at the sugarbush on the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Reservation. People went out to the sugarbush to drain and cook the sap from maple trees for sugar and suryp, most of the time he whole family went for the a couple of weeks or even a group of the community went. It was also another social event.
